The Foundation I Don't Like to go a Day Without | Dolled Up Daily Blog

I get a lot of questions about my skin routine and what I wear on my face, so I thought this was a bit overdue! I have been using the Clinique Acne Solutions Liquid Foundation for over a year, though I've used many other foundations, from airbrush systems, high end, drugstore, this is my everyday use foundation that I just can't seem to beat.

I have combination to oily skin (more oil in the summer) and have had skin and acne issues my whole life. Though it has cleared up so much since my teenage years, I am still very careful of what I put on my face.

I like Clinique because their products are all hypoallergenic, and their makeup has never caused any irritation or breakouts for me (Some of their lotions have, so I stay away from those). But this foundation is specifically targeted towards people with acne prone skin.

Living up to Claims
The product description on the Clinique website claims "Feels so fresh, looks so natural. Non-irritating, oil-free makeup helps blend away blemishes, neutralize redness. Medicated ingredients help treat existing breakouts and keep them from coming back." Sometimes I am a little nervous foundations won't do all they say they will, but this one lives up to it's claims. My skin is significantly clearer and better toned since I began using this product regularly. (I do not wear makeup or foundation everyday, but the days I do I use this)

This is appropriate for dry combination, oily, or combination oily skin. If you have very dry skin I would definitely not use this because it is not made for dry skin. I do not personally find it drying at all, but after reading reviews many people with drier skin do find this as an issue.

I'd say this is the basic medium coverage foundation. Very light and good for summer months, but I wear it in the dry cold summers as well and it held up great. It is slightly buildable and very good at covering up redness and small irritations.

Goes on very smooth. Can apply with stipple or flat foundation brush, beauty blender, hands, I've done it all, and all comes out great. For a more natural quick application apply with hands, for a higher coverage apply with flat or stipple brush. Blends amazingly into skin. By far the best blending foundation I've ever used.
This is a matte foundation, does not have a dewy finish, but looks very natural. I love that about it, but if you do not like matte foundations I would stay away.

This foundation lasts all day for me, through all sorts of weather weather, sweating, humidity, blizzards, you name it! But still is easy to take off at the end of the day.

Overall, I guess this is more a rave than a review, but a little of both. I seriously love this foundation and would recommend it to anyone besides people with dry skin or people who do not like matte foundations. If you have any questions I'll answer them the best I can! Just leave a comment or e-mail and I will get back to you asap.

The product can be found on the Clinique website here and retails for $27. I always pick mine up at the Clinique counter in Macy's (or any other large department store) and they're always willing to help color match and give you samples!

Buying tip: The best time to buy is during Clinique Bonus Time, where with a purchase over usually $25 they give you a fun bag of goodies with lots of fun skin and cosmetic samples. Always a fun variety! And comes in a cute bag :)

**This is not a sponsored post, this is my personal opinion from my experience with this foundation. I really do love it!

What is YOUR must have foundation?

Playing Catch Up. Europe, Winter, Move, and More!

Posting again! Getting more frequent already huh :) Time to play catch up, and sorry for the crazy amount of images in this post. This is what I've been doing the last bit while I've been neglecting my poor blog!

Enjoying the sunshine in my favorite dress.

Surviving the forever winter also in Michigan lol.

Moving to place where winters look like this. Ah. Love.

Traveled the world in this with some lovely people.  Got to take photography for a band and travel Europe. Once in a lifetime experience.
Traveling the world. This is in Vienna.
Tried authentic fish and chips. I can't say I liked it too much lol.
But I can say I loved this authentic Belgian waffle I enjoyed in Brussels.

Koln, Germany

Cardiff, UK

Bet you can guess where this was taken lol.

Seeing the Mona Lisa and all other wonderful art in the Lourve was breathtaking. Though, I am surprised it was so small!

I am so greatful for this trip. Meeting so many great people, spending it with a person I love dearly, and seeing things I never thought I'd be lucky enough to see. Ah. Truly amazing. I loved every second. Even though I can't say living on a bus with a 20-some stinky boys was always the most fun. Lol. Glad everyone was sweet and awesome. But I am glad to be back in the US and in my new home relaxing by the pool and having a stable job.

Life is so good.

What's the best vacation/adventure you guys have been on? Where's one place you need to go to?

xoxo, Haylee

Messy Hair For Summer | Dolled Up Daily Blog

My oh my, I am bad at blogging consistently. But what can I say, I always find myself coming back. :) To update old readers, I've recently graduated, moved across the country to the sunshine state, and got a job in the field I went to school for. Life is good. I sure can't complain about living by the beach either. Still trying to get used to the weather, but enjoying every second of sunshine.

I thought I'd return with a simple short post that inspires me and hope it does some of you too! Some relaxed summer easy styles I just love so much. One of my favorite things about the sunniest season  is that it's truly so relaxing. So shouldn't we look like we're enjoying the beach days and the sun rays?! I think so. From true messy buns to real beachy waves, I love all these looks and will be trying my own at some of them. What's your go to hair style for the summer?

Thanks for reading friends, I will write again soon. Looking forward to catching up on some of my favorite blogs and finding some new awesome ones too!

Moolan Luxury Snow Boots | Dolled Up Daily Blog

It's a little late in the season for snow boots I know I know, but there's still plenty of snow coming down where I live so I just had to share the boots I just received, sent to me by a lovely friend from Canada.

I'm not much for "Ugg style" boots besides for the comfort and amount of snow I deal with everyday for many months, but these I have really fallen in love with.

The brand is Moolan, I've never heard of it before. They're from a little Korean boutique in Montreal.

Sorry for the slightly dirty picture, I was too lazy to wash these off before I took pictures.

These are so warm, so lined, and very sturdy. The material is great to easily wipe off salt, which is great. High quality, much higher quality than my uggs themselves. I like the details and the colors. Goes with about everything.

I love them. From the little details, to the quality, to the comfort. Nothing to complain about with these.

If I ever need boots again, which I'm sure I will, I'll be looking for this brand. Best quality, and cutest snow boots I have ever owned.

xoxo Haylee

P.S. Connect with me on instagram! I need some new fun people to follow :)

Over the Knee | Dolled Up Daily Blog

I don't know about there, but here winter has clearly arrived. I am getting a little sick of all this snow already. But, I don't plan on letting the snow stop me from dressing how I want!

One thing I've seen a lot this season but never personally owned is over the knee boots. I've seen people rock them, but I've also seen some others not look quite their best in their pairs. The nightmare I have when thinking of over the knee boots, is looking like Julia Roberts in pretty woman. They may have worked for her, but that's not exactly the image I am going for.

But, there are a lot of celebrities I've seen wear this trend and look stunning. Blake Lively is a prime example, makes me fall in love with the style.

A few things I've noticed that help find the perfect OTK boots without giving off the pretty woman vibe is:

  • Stay away from pleather, especially shiny types.
  • Avoid super high heels
  • To be on the safe side get flats
  • Other colors besides black, like browns and other dark colors are a safe bet
  • Great to pair with tights and leggings
  • If going with black, suede is a great alternative to leather
  • Wear with conservative clothing, let the boots be the statement piece
I've been pining after a pair, think I'll need some for this season. What's your thought on these statement pieces?

Catching Up | Dolled Up Daily Blog

Hello my lovely readers, I've been MIA lately and I apologize for my lack of blog updates. On the bright side though, so much has been happening this summer and I can't wait to catch you all up. Heres a sweet and short post, with a few pictures to catch you up on a few things from the last month or so.

I got my first ever gel nails, loved the way they looked and not having to worry about them chipping or changing them for weeks. However they did a ton of damage to my nails, still months away from the damage growing out. Worth it price wise? Yes. But damage wise? No. Maybe someday I'll opt for these again, but definitely not a monthly thing.

Had a lovely trip to Chicago. How pretty is this? A gorgeous balcony with a wonderful view of the city.

Still loving these Prada sunnies I mentioned in one of my last posts. :)

Gotten obsessed with Earl Grey tea. Love love love. Chai tea lattes are my other morning weakness.

Found my new favorite nail color, Highlight of my Summer by China Glaze. So gorgeous!

And relaxed poolside in Florida.

What a fun and relaxing summer its been. I am a lucky girl. Working though, only a month left before I head back to university. Have to make the best of it!

Heading to Lollapalooza this weekend in Chicago!! So excited. Then off for a short trip to LA with a few of my girls. Then the Taylor Swift concert right after. Pinch me this can't be real. :)

Little Blue Dress | Dolled Up Daily Blog

There's not much I love more than the summer time. The warm weather, beach days, and just overall happiness the sunshine tends to bring to my face. One thing that goes hand in hand with the warm days and sunny weather is a perfect dress.

Easy to throw on, comfortable, and pretty at the same time. These pictures are from awhile back, but thought they'd be a perfect example of a simple day dress.

The dress is from last summers candies line, belt came with, and the flip flops are American Eagle.

And now one just for laughs, have to love the awkward moment someone walks through a photo session lol.

What's your favorite summertime apparel?

Until next time dolls
